I really want to get another job! I have been looking everyday and applying for loads – but I just don’t get a response. It is so frustrating as I don’t get any feedback what so ever, so I have no idea why I am not good enough. My job at the moment is so boring, I work in IT and maintain the companies cdn. There is nothing too it and it just gets me down. Ideally I want to move into insurance and all I want is to just get my foot on the ladder! Picture: careers.guardian.co.uk
I have a fair bit of money saved up from inheritances and my own careful spending and saving over the years, and now I'm looking to do something worthwhile with it. Does anyone have experience with money management companies? I'm thinking of signing up with a wealth management and investment company like Rowan Dartington so I can make money on my savings and invest them in lucrative deals. The thing is, I have no previous experience with this, so I don't know if I'm getting a good deal, what companies have the best reputations, and if this is even the right channel for me to be going down. I've read a few things online about private wealth management companies messing up with client money and being fined, I really don't want to risk any of my savings! Photo: JuditK (Flickr)
When I was younger it was all the fashion to have ripped jeans. Even at one point I bought a pair of jeans and ripped them myself! Ripped jeans then quickly went out of fashion – I think mostly because of the fact people went over the top with the rips and they just looked awful! However, they seem to be slowly crawling back into fashion. Look at these Miss Sixty Jeans: They are skinny ones – obviously hugely in fashion and probably won’t go out – and have some small rips and pulls to make them look casual and carefree. They are £115 though – so if ripped jeans do come back in properly I might still buy my own pair and rip them instead! Cheapskate! Picture: Freemans
When it gets to this time of year - approaching bikini weather - people run out and join high-priced gyms in a desperate attempt to shape up for summer. But you've got just as much opportunity to work out and lose weight without hitting your debit card with the bill of a swanky gym membership. Go running - around your neighborhood or around the park, grab a friend and go for a run - it's cheaper than a treadmill! Get a cheap fitness trampoline - there's nothing like a little bounce for that added work out boost - or if you know someone with an 8ft trampoline (for the kids, maybe) go and borrow it, it works loads of muscles. Run up and down stairs - there's no better cardio work out, do it at home or outdoors. Find a fitness DVD in a charity shop - you can always find one there! They're not all great, but some are really worth having a go. Good luck! Photo: befiitter (Flickr)
I pay around £30 a month for a hosting server which is supposed to give me shockingly high bandwidth for my video website as well as control the highly fluctuating amount of traffic that I seem to drag in. Yet my website is constantly crashing, going down or if not any of those two, being hacked! Is my Hosting Server taking me for a ride or does this happen to everyone that hosts a video site? My site is essentially a live streaming model with the ability to download too, although my server obviously hosts the videos somewhere else and beams them over as needed. Is this just one of the prices of having a website that follows this format? I mean, it doesn’t ever seem to happen with Youtube or Vimeo, so why me? I really just don’t get it.
