The National Lottery funded Creative Scotland group is the national leader for Scotland’s screen, arts and creative industries. Investing in exciting ideas and talented people, Creative Scotland champions all that is good in Scottish creativity.
Creative Scotland funds the Scottish Brass Band Association, a thriving organisation. Over the past 5 years alone, the Scottish Brass Band Association has created a whopping 40 new youth brass bands. First formed in 1895, the Scottish Brass Band Association has experienced the ups and downs expected in a history of 106 years. Yet assisted by Creative Scotland’s Youth Music Initiative, brass band playing has dramatically increased and improved in Scotland. The SBBA now has 1400 young musicians from all over Scotland who will all be participating in this year’s Scottish Youth Brass Band Championships & Festival in Perth Concert Hall on the 26th and 27th November. It will be the biggest youth brass band event the world has ever seen!
