Recent evidence has discovered that playing with blocks and lego benefits children at a young age. Recent studies have unearthed the fact that block play helps children develop their verbal skills. A study conducted on one to two year old children showed that 15 to 20 minutes of play with blocks per day increased the children’s verbal skills by a staggering 15% and decreased the amount of time the children spent watching television by 80%.

The bright primary colours of lego, such as can be found in lego ninjago, provides stimulation for a child’s developing mind. A cheerful and bright atmosphere is also created for the child by the bright colours of the blocks, the bright colours being naturally attractive for babies. Large interlocking blocks are perfect for small children as they cannot be swallowed by the child. Piecing these blocks together is very useful for the development of a child’s hand-eye co-ordination, especially for babies whose attentions spans are short naturally.
